The International University of Monaco will be launching a new Masters degree in luxury retail management this autumn where students have the opportunity to learn about private jets, yachts as well as all the high class brands such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

The 14,500 euros per year program focuses on teaching the graduates how the luxury industry interacts with the economic, cultural and technological environments of the twenty-first century, the characteristics of today’s luxury consumer and the resonances generated by high-end goods and services.

The degree course, which is fully taught in English also offers a 7 month internship in a luxury boutique once the student completes the course.

“Gone are the days when it was easy to sell luxury goods based on the allure of the brand alone,” says a spokeswoman for the university.

The postgraduate students will be taught the “history, main trends and competitive dynamics of the retail luxury industry”.

They will learn about running shops and sales teams.
